Pizza is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Chips and dip is a no-brainer. But a home-cooked dish brings a certain warmth to a potluck.
C Kitchenry Culinary Studio at The Grove recently launched its Fellowship Food menu. In it you’ll find home-style dishes that are sure to steal the show at any gathering. Each party tray promises to satisfy 8 to 12 party-ready bellies.
Owner and chef Bettinna Carlos generously sampled a few of the kitchen’s specials for The Rockwellist.
Roasted Chicken Pesto Lasagna
While a fight is the last thing we want to break out at a party, we can’t promise that you won’t be fighting for the crispy corners and toasty top layer of sauce and cheese on this dish. Best to double up your order to make sure (almost) everybody plays nice.
Carlos’ Callos
This dish is “loved even by tripe haters,” shares the chef. It’s true, the chef’s family recipe of slow cooked ox-tripe stew, flavored with Chorizo Pamplona will make converts out of the haters.
Beef Burgundy on Garlic Mash
If your potlock’s theme is comfort food, look no further. This Julia Child-inspired beef stew cooked in red wine that sits on a bed of chunky, garlic mashed potatoes looks and feels like a warm hug on a plate.
Delicious food is just scratching the surface of what C Kitchenry hopes to share. “We have really been blessed not just to be spreading great food but also God’s Word through the Bible verses that are on every pack, bag, box and tray served and delivered,” shares Bettinna.
